The Last of the Pagan Babies Featuring underground arts luminaries Robert Morgan, Jimmy Gordon,Henry Faulkner, Sweet Evening Breeze among others - This documentary looks at the untold stories of an unknown gay history and unique Southern underground culture since the American Civil War tothe present. It is the story of a small rural town in whose unique history lay the fertile ground for a 150 year lineage ...of drag queens, ‘southern belles,’hustlers, artists, the Muse’s wild children. At the center are Robert Morgan and The Pagan Babies, a collective of highly creative, outrageous and effective artists, who spoke truth to power, and made radical decisions tobring their voice into public life through drag personas, featuring early experimental film by George Kuchar, video art, guerilla theatre, photography and art. The characters in this documentary spoke from that underground’s moral center claiming their right of expression, refusing to be invisible while giving voice to 150 years of underground life. Produced and directed by Jean Donohue.
